The 2023 FIBA World Cup Groups Are Set!

The FIBA World Cup Draw results are in! Find out who the Philippines will be facing and which nations will be playing in Manila.

Earlier today, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Draw Ceremony took place in Manila, in Araneta Coliseum in festive fashion, with special appearances and performances to delight the huge crowd of basketball fans.

With the ceremony concluded, after months of anticipation, we finally have the official FIBA World Cup Groups. Now, the 32 nations competing in the 2023 FIBA World Cup finally know who they will be playing against in the group stage of the tournament!

These are the FIBA World Cup Groups:

The Philippines’ Men’s National Basketball Team, better known as Gilas Pilipinas, was drawn into Group A where they will be facing teams from Angola, the Dominican Republic, and Italy in the group stage of the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Italy will come into the tournament as the highest-ranked team in the group as the World No. 10. The Dominican Republic is 23rd in the world, while the Philippines and Angola sit next to each other in FIBA’s world rankings at 40th and 41st, respectively.

Here is the full list of the FIBA World Cup Groups:

Groups A and B will be competing in Araneta Coliseum for the Group Stage, while Groups C and D will be playing in the Mall of Asia Arena. Meanwhile, Groups E and F will compete in the Okinawa Arena in Japan, and Jakarta will host Groups G and H in the Indonesia Arena.
