Boxing 101: Here Are Gyms in Manila For Boxers to Hit

By Annika Caniza - August 22, 2022
Boxing is a great form of fitness, and in Manila, it’s also one of the most accessible. These are just a few of the many gyms you can hit.

Boxing is a great form of exercise, whether you’re looking to be the next world champion or you just want to stay fit.

And the best part about boxing is that it is so accessible. There are many boxing gyms at our disposal all around Metro Manila, but these are the ones that might be most convenient for you to visit.

Fight Factory Manila

If you’re looking to get into boxing, Fight Factory Manila is one of the best boxing gyms in Metro Manila to hit.

However, Fight Factory Manila is not just a boxing gym—it is a literal “fight factory.” They host a variety of martial arts such as Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and MMA. Apart from that, they offer circuit training too.

But if boxing is what you’re after, rest assured they have everything you need from punching bags to trainers who can coach you every session.

Here, you can spar with a trainer who will help you learn all the basic moves and train you through drills. Plus, with their circuit training, it’s also a great place to stay conditioned.

Their rates start at around PHP 250 per session, but prices may vary depending on the branch and your membership status. They have branches in Quezon City, Taguig, Fort Bonifacio, Greenhills, and many others.

All you have to do is find the one nearest to you and you’re all set to hit the gym.

You can find out more on their Instagram page.

Wild Bout Boxing & Muay Thai Fitness Gym

Wild Bout Boxing & Muay Thai Fitness Gym is another great place to schedule a session. Only a 15-minute drive from Greenbelt, this gym’s location is convenient if you work or live in Makati.

That means before, after, or even in between your work hours, you can squeeze in a quick sweat sesh.

Similar to Fight Factory, Wild Bout offers more than just boxing too. As you probably guessed based on its name, they also have trainers that can coach Muay Thai.

Wild Bout boasts their in-house veteran coaches, so as a beginner still learning the ropes, you are confident that you are in good hands. Similar to Fight Factory, their trainers are also available to spar with and practice drills with.

Rates start from PHP 350 per session, but you can also avail of their different packages.

You can check out more info on their gym from their Facebook page.

Flyweight Boxing

While Fight Factory and Wild Bout are two of the more traditional boxing gyms in Manila, there are a few new modernized gyms that have been popping up that you may want to try as well.

One of them is Flyweight Boxing.

Flyweight Boxing is a studio where their workouts focus on learning the basics of with drills, bag work, and off-the-bag exercises. But, instead of working one-on-one with a trainer, here you will be working out as a group.

In Flyweight Boxing, you will book a class that takes you through the progression of their drills, all accompanied by music and an instructor to lead the entire group. A class can last from 45 to 60 minutes and no boxing experience is necessary.

Located in Forbes Town, BGC, their class rates start at PHP 1,000. While it is different from the traditional training you might be used to, this is a unique experience that will help you learn the fundamentals of the sport.
