ZETA DIVISION Earn Their Second Chance and are Heading to Champions Los Angeles

By Ramon Domingo - July 25, 2023
And so the top four of the VCT Pacific get ready to take on the world.

ZETA DIVISION take their revenge and triumphed over Team Secret in the VCT 2023 Pacific Last Chance Qualifier. With this win, the Japanese squad earned their spot in Champions Los Angeles as the final representative of the VCT Pacific region.

During the regular season, ZETA finished fourth putting them right above the Philippines’ Team Secret. The team had a disappointing run in the playoffs, swiftly dropping out of the running after losing to both Team Secret and Korea’s T1. However, even through the hard losses, ZETA’s games were highly competitive, pushing both Team Secret and T1 to their limits.

It seems that they’ve taken the losses to heart and made drastic improvements for the Last Chance Qualifiers. ZETA would take down Indonesia’s Rex Regum Qeon 2-1 despite a rather shaky performance throughout the match. They would also get their revenge on Team Secret in the upper bracket finals, returning the favor and beating them 2-0. The two would later meet again in grand finals where ZETA put on another impressive performance, taking the Last Chance Qualifiers from Team Secret 3-1.

This will be ZETA’s second appearance at a Champions event as they join Paper Rex, DRX, and T1 to represent the Pacific. With all Last Chance Qualifiers concluded, all that’s left is to wait for teams to arrive in Los Angeles as Champions 2023 begins in the first week of August.

You can relive ZETA DIVISION’s full VCT 2023 Pacific Last Chance Qualifier run on the official VCT Pacific Youtube channel.
