Alex Eala is back in the win column with a title win at the W25 Yecla tournament in Spain!
Junior Grand Slam Champion Alex Eala has finally found a breakthrough, claiming her first title win of the season with a victory in the W25 Yecla tournament in Spain on Sunday, June 4.
The Filipina ace defeated Swiss tennis player Valentina Ryser in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, to claim her third professional singles title. Ever since her historic Junior Grand Slam win in the 2022 US Open, she has been hard at work fighting on the professional circuit.
This marks a huge victory for Eala, who has recently been facing a losing streak that saw her drop from 214 to 266 on the WTA World Rankings. However, with this most recent result as her first win of the year, she is likely to climb her way back up the ladder on the professional circuit.
