In fact, the Hive is more than ready to get back into the fray.
Falcons AP.Bren are excited for MSC 2024 but there may be more to it for David “FlapTzy” Canon. As a whole, the team is confident in their upcoming Mid Season Cup run and are even looking forward to facing the competition there.
When asked what they think about teams being afraid to face them, Vincent “Pando” Unigo said “okay lang matakot sila. May dagdag na factor na iisipin nila pag nakatapat sila sa amin. Pero kami, wala kaming tinatakutan.”
They also feel no pressure about possibly performing in front of possibly hundreds of OFW’s in Saudi Arabia. “Naranasan din namin yan nung naglaro kami sa Riyadh para sa IESF qualifier,” said Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel. “Napuno nga yung side namin at parang nasa Pinas lang kami.”
“Siyempre masaya kami kasi kahit nasa ibang bansa, nag-effort parin sila pumunta sa venue,” added Rowigen “Owgwen” Unigo. “Medyo malayo ang mga lugar sa Riyadh tapos ang sobrang init din. Kaya sobrong natuwa kami dahil yung mga OFW, kahit nasa ibang bansa, sumusuporta pa rin sila.”
Looking for Revenge
However, FlapTzy has a different perspective on how other teams see Falcons AP.Bren in MSC 2024. “Feel ko hindi kami talaga tinatakutan kasi natalo kami ni Liquid ECHO at kitang-kita na sobrang downgrade yung laro namin. Yun nga yung advantage namin sa mga ibang team, hindi na sila natatakot tapos bibiglaan namin sila.”
More than anyone, FlapTzy seems to be the most eager to start competing again. He admits that the loss against Liquid ECHO weighed on him heavily so he’s looking to prove himself again on the big stage. “Sobrang malaking sampal sa mukha ko yung pagkatalo na ganon. Sobrang one-sided kaya gigil na gigil na ako bumawi.”
And while there’s no guarantee it’ll happen, FlapTzy is also looking to get his revenge against Liquid ECHO’s Sanford Vinuya. Sanford was FlapTzy’s lane opponent in the MPL PH S13 grand finals and in all four games the lane went into Sanford’s favor, leading him to win the title of finals MVP.
“Sabi ng teammates ko na panis daw ako kay Sanford,” said FlapTzy with a smile, “kaya dun ako namo-motivate.” With that kind of motivation fueling him, FlapTzy is sure to take Falcons AP.Bren far in MSC 2024.
