Kiefer Ravena has been in the public eye ever since he was a young high school phenom. Now he’s leveling up by taking a bride and preparing for fatherhood.
During an exclusive interview with The GAME Magazine last year, pro basketball star Kiefer Ravena was asked about life after basketball.
“Five to ten years from now, I see myself coaching, to be honest,” he answered. “I see myself coaching as work, something related to basketball. Hopefully, have my own sports agency, help the younger generation of basketball players, and athletes in general, to blossom in their careers and respective crafts, and at the same time, educate them with the money that they have. That’s also part of the things that I want to put in my agency.”
Then he closed it with:
“And hopefully having a good family, a strong and healthy family with at least two kids. That’s the plan. That’s in my own perfect world.”
On June 11, Kiefer took a major step towards executing this plan when he walked down the aisle with Diana Mackey at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Bonifacio Global City.
It was every bit of a whirlwind romance for Kiefer, who currently plays for the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan, and Diana, a former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Binibining Pilipinas Nueva Ecija titlist.
The two made their relationship Instagram-official on Kiefer’s birthday in October last year.
Barely a week later, Kiefer added to his list of clutch moments when he surprised Diana with a marriage proposal right in the middle of a busy street in Japan. Of course, she said yes. A video of the proposal can be viewed on his Instagram.
Throughout his career, Kiefer Ravena has been called “Manong” not just by his younger siblings, Thirdy and Dani, but also by the younger generation of basketball players because he’s always looked out for them.
In a few months’ time, though, he will be taking on a new role after the couple announced last March, also via Instagram, that Diana was expecting their first child. This means that “Manong” Kiefer will soon be “Daddy” Kiefer.
Kiefer posted the official announcement on his Instagram account.
