It’s a big improvement for Aurora but they still have the rest of the season to go.
The future is looking bright for Aurora’s Demonkite and his team as they finished the first half of MPL PH S15 with a perfect match record.
While it’s not spotless, going 7-0 in matches is a huge improvement for the squad, so much so that Jungler Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto admits that this was an unexpected result.
“Yung growth namin nung M6 at ESL Snapdragon, bini-build pa namin kahit magsisimula na yung season,” said Aurora Demonkite.
Recall that Aurora had a similar breakout season last year only to tumble and fall during international competitions. Both their M6 world championship and Snapdragon Pro Series performances were downright disappointing with the team not even making the playoffs for both tournaments.
However, they look like a completely different team this season. They’re much more coordinated and Aurora Demonkite believes it has to do with their communication.
“Mas open na kami sa mga mistakes ng iba. Tapos pino-point out talaga namin yung mga mistakes ng team at ano dapat kailangan namin i-improve. Nung M6 at Snapdragon, based kami sa sistema, which is good pero may lapses talaga sa mga games namin.”
And it looks like it’s paying off in spades. Aurora has overcome the efforts of multiple world champions to dethrone them and their path to the playoffs is practically set thanks to how much they’ve improved.
“Sobrang bilis talaga mag adapt yung team ngayon,” said Aurora Demonkite. “Yun ata yung biggest factor bakit kami nag win streak.”
But there’s still the other half of the season left for them. A perfect first half is nice but Aurora and Demonkite are not going to let that get to their heads.
“Kailangan lang namin maging consistent at siyempre wag namin isipin na mas-mataas kami sa mga ibang team. Wala talagang mahinang team this season. Kung hindi namin maliliitin yung mga ibang teams, feel ko kaya namin silang talunin.”
