After shocking the world in MSC 2024, the ‘Sky Prince’ thinks this could finally be Malaysia’s year.
Selangor Red Giants (SRG) proved to the world that Malaysia is a real contender when they won MSC 2024, and Muhammad “Sekys” Zaman believes they have a real shot at becoming M series champions.
“Honestly, I did not expect [this result],” said Sekys when asked about SRG’s historic victory. “I expected at least grand finals for all the effort we put in this year. But now that we are champions, well of course I’m happy!”
The breakout Jungler has been playing professionally for less than two years but he’s already distinguished himself among his peers.
His mastery of both assassin and utility jungle heroes was vital for SRG’s strategies, earning him the finals MVP title. Some have already started calling him the ‘Sky Prince’ thanks to the control and pressure he applies in game. Not bad for a player who was essentially scouted from out of the blue.
When asked if he considers himself the best Jungler in the world, his reply was straightforward and honest: “I said before that I won’t call myself that until we win an international championship. Now that we’re MSC champions, I can definitely say I’m the best in the world.”
New Hope for Malaysia
With SRG showing that they are truly a championship-caliber team, all eyes are now looking towards the next big MLBB tournament of the year: the M6 World Championship. The stars all seem to be lining up for Malaysia as not only is the tournament returning to where it all began, but now the region looks like real contenders for the trophy.
With all that momentum on their side, Sekys believes that SRG becoming Malaysia’s first M series champions is within reach.
“I think we just need to stick to our routine and our training,” said Sekys. “And as coach [Michael “Arcadia” Bocado] always says, ‘don’t be complacent’. Then I think we can do it.”
