Serving in Style: The Top 3 Looks at Roland Garros 2023

By Annika Caniza - June 06, 2023
Tennis players have the unique opportunity to play around with how they dress for competitions. Here’s how they’re doing it at Roland Garros.

Roland Garros is already looking to be one of this year’s most exciting Grand Slams. The clay courts are always tough surfaces to play on, many young players are looking to make a breakthrough in a competitive pack, and the king of clay himself is not in the mix.

And the best part is, the action isn’t over!

But while we wait to see who’s going to make it to the top of the French Open this year, let’s look to the style competition for now. Who was rocking some of the best looks of Roland Garros 2023?

You’d think that wearing orange against the iconic orange clay courts of the French Open might drown you out. But this particular print stood out among all the looks of the 2023 Roland Garros.

Whether printed on a shirt or on a skirt, the orange print definitely works, depicting the fire and passion that the players exhibit, especially when they are in a heated match.

Our favorite is how the print hides within Elina Avanesyan’s skirt, so it truly comes to life whenever she shows off her skills on the court.

Of all the different looks and the many skirts of Roland Garros, Coco Gauff’s has to be our favorite one, as it stole our heads from Day One.

Not just a skirt that does the job and allows Coco to move freely and swiftly on the tennis court, but it is also a classic tennis skirt that one could just as easily see on a runway. Is anyone else thinking up ideas of how to style this piece for a night out?

Most tennis players will stick to one trusty outfit to wear for the entirety of a Grand Slam. It’s practical and it makes sense because these athletes aren’t focused on putting on a fashion show — their priority is winning.

So we have to credit Sloane Stephens for keeping it interesting while sticking to the same outfit. For every match, she walks onto the court wearing the same outfit, just in a new vibrant color.

It’s a simple way to stay stylish because let’s face it, we do enjoy how tennis players have the unique opportunity to get creative with their competition looks.
