MSC 2024: The Biggest MLBB Tournament Yet Is Here!

By Ramon Domingo - June 27, 2024
Regional pride, international glory, and a million-dollar prize pool. The stakes have never been higher.

After six months of preparation, the long-awaited MSC 2024 is right around the corner. 23 teams from around the world have gathered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to fight for the Mid Season Cup.

Starting off with the Wild Card tournament on June 28, eight teams will get their last chance to participate in MSC proper. Each team will be separated into two groups where they’ll play a single round-robin, best-of-one matches. No mistakes are allowed here as only the top team in both groups can advance into the final deciding match. Here, the last two teams will play a best-of-five to determine who moves on to the group stage.

For the group stage itself, the remaining 16 teams are drawn into four groups. Just like in the Wild Card, it’s a single round-robin except this time matches are a best-of-two. Only the top two can advance into the playoffs, with any ties being settled with a best-of-one match.

Finally, the playoffs are the most brutal leg of them all as all teams will play in a single elimination bracket — no second chances in the lower bracket here.

Each match will be a decisive best-of-five series so only those truly worthy can make it to the grand finals. A best-of-seven awaits those who make it to the final stage, where only one can walk away as the MSC 2024 champions.

History in the Making

MSC 2024 is a landmark event for MLBB esports for a couple of reasons. First of all, it’s the first time that the event is being held outside of Southeast Asia. This is a follow-through from their initiative last year to bring in more international teams to participate in the tournament, making it another big MLBB global event next to the World Championships.

Then of course there’s the fact that it has a whopping three million USD prize pool, making it the biggest prize pool ever in MLBB history. First place gets a million USD for themselves while second place gets 500,000 USD. That’s still more than the M5 World Championship grand prize which was capped at 300,000.

With money like that on the line, you can bet that MSC 2024 will be one fierce tournament. All the teams only have one goal and they’re sure to fight tooth and nail to raise that trophy.
