Who should you pay attention to after the league’s biggest shakeup?
The MPL PH S15 is upon us and with it comes new players and new teams — but the same, the ever-burning question: which team will rise above the rest?
The loss of Blacklist International and RSG Philippines and the inclusion of two new ones has caused quite a stir. Team Falcons and Twisted Minds are known names in esports but how will they fare in the best MLBB region?
There’s a lot to be excited about in MPL PH S15, especially these teams that we’re keeping an eye on.
Team Falcons
Of the two new Saudi organizations entering MPL PH S15, Team Falcons has a lot more weight to them. Considering that they brought over AP.Bren’s M5 world championship winning roster and kept it mostly intact, many fans already have high expectations for the team.
While there’s no doubt that they’re a powerhouse, the real question is if they can return to championship-winning form. Missing from the group is head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro, a key figure who’s shaped the team since the beginning. Meanwhile, Robert “Trebor” Sanchez has been moved from technical coach to the sole coach of the team.
We’ll have to wait and see how this change will affect Team Falcons’ first season in the MPL.
AP.Bren
Speaking of AP.Bren, a fresh new set of faces will be donning the iconic black and yellow jersey. Similar to Team Falcons, AP.Bren took Lazy Esports, last year’s MDL champions, and promoted them wholesale to the MPL.
The common sentiment amongst other pros is that this team is no pushover. They were already taking games off of MPL teams back when they were just a development-level team and seeing this team get the chance to prove themselves on the professional stage has a lot of people excited.
Do they have what it takes to go from MDL champs to MPL PH S15 champs? Only time will tell.
TNC Pro Team
TNC continues its search for a solution to stop its continuous free fall in the standings. This time they’re recruiting the help of star Roamer and M4 world champion Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera. The hope is that his veteran experience could help bring some stability to TNC’s constantly changing roster.
In all honesty, it’s remarkable how TNC has finished last place for five seasons in a row. At this point, it’s going to take more than one-star player to turn their fortunes around. But that doesn’t stop us from cheering them on in hopes that they can finally get a break.
